About the role#
This is an entry level engineering internship focused on supporting nuclear plant operations. You will work within the procurement department to ensure materials and services meet technical and quality standards. This role requires travel to the North Anna and Surry Power Stations as needed.
What you'll do#
- Specify technical and quality requirements for materials and services.
- Perform technical and quality assurance duties related to nuclear procurements.
- Research and analyze procurement requirements.
- Apply engineering principles, criteria, and procedures to routine tasks.
- Use data analytics to support quality systems, audits, and performance tracking.
- Evaluate systems and equipment to identify process improvements.
- Complete assignments with limited supervision.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ABET-accredited Electrical Engineering degree program at a four-year university.
- Expected graduation date of Spring 2028.
- Minimum GPA of 2.5.
- Strong technical writing skills.
- Ability to manage time effectively between regular tasks and emergent priorities.
- Flexibility to shift focus based on plant needs.
- Proficiency with personal computers and standard software.
- Ability to apply engineering theories and concepts with limited guidance.
