About the role#
As an AP1000 Operations Instructor intern, you will support the development and delivery of training programs for nuclear power plant operators and technical personnel. You will work alongside experienced instructors, licensed operators, and engineers to support AP1000 reactors and other advanced technologies like the AP300 SMR and eVinci microreactor. You will report to the US AP1000 Training Manager.
What you'll do#
- Support the development, maintenance, and improvement of technical training materials, presentations, student guides, and digital learning products.
- Observe classroom, laboratory, and simulator-based instruction to learn how nuclear operators are trained and qualified.
- Assist instructors with training development using the Systematic Approach to Training process.
- Incorporate plant modifications, operating experience, and technical information into training materials.
- Help develop multimedia products and instructional technologies for AP1000 training programs.
- Build your knowledge of reactor operations principles, operator responsibilities, plant response, and operating procedures.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in nuclear, mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering.
- Completion of your sophomore year of college.
- A demonstrated interest in nuclear power generation, operator training, or technical instruction.
