About the role#
As a Geological Engineer Intern, you will work from our corporate office in Oklahoma City. You will support our Engineering team with estimating, managing, and commissioning construction projects. This is a full-time, paid internship for the Summer 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Design Build Firms to define mechanical and automation requirements for new and existing aggregate plants.
- Manage the development of greenfield sites, including roads, plant pads, railroad spurs, storm water management, and power distribution.
- Oversee project quality, schedules, and budgets to ensure stakeholder value.
- Estimate project costs using historical data, vendor information, and your own experience.
- Promote a safe work culture across all levels of project involvement.
- Handle other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor of Science program for Engineering or Construction Management.
- Strong technical and engineering skills, including the ability to build and interpret complex Excel spreadsheets.
- Experience with modeling software like AutoCAD or Tekla is preferred.
- Electrical and automation experience is a plus.
- Prior experience in mining or the aggregate industry is preferred.
- Ability to work independently with some guidance, manage large workloads, and meet deadlines.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work with all levels of the organization.
- A valid driver license and a good driving record.
Location & details#
- Location: Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
- Schedule: You must be able to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
- Physical requirements: You must be able to work outside for extended periods in all weather conditions. The role requires physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing stairs and ladders, and walking on uneven surfaces.
