About the role#
The Construction Management Engineer Intern will join our team in Oklahoma City for the Summer 2027 term. You will assist the Engineering department with estimating, managing, and commissioning construction projects. This is a full-time, paid position.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with Design Build Firms to determine mechanical and automation requirements for new and existing aggregate plants.
- Oversee the development of greenfield sites, including roads, plant pad sites, railroad spurs, storm water management, and power distribution.
- Manage project quality, schedules, and budgets to ensure stakeholder value.
- Promote a safe work culture across all project levels.
- Estimate project costs using historical data, vendor information, and your own experience.
- Handle additional tasks as assigned on a temporary or permanent basis.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a Bachelor of Science in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Strong technical and engineering skills, including the ability to build and interpret complex Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to work independently with some guidance.
- Excellent communication, observation, and reading comprehension skills.
- Proficiency in engaging and influencing people at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to manage large workloads under tight deadlines.
- Experience with analytical and statistics tools.
- A valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including early mornings, nights, and weekends.
- Comfort working outside for extended periods in various weather conditions.
- Experience in mining or the aggregate industry is preferred, as is experience with modeling software like AutoCAD or Tekla and electrical or automation systems.
- Physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb stairs and ladders, and navigate uneven surfaces.
