About the role#
As a Construction Management Intern, you will gain hands-on experience across multiple areas of our business. This role focuses on the heavy construction industry, providing exposure to project management, plant operations, and field work. You will work alongside estimators, project managers, and crew foremen to learn the full lifecycle of our projects.
What you'll do#
- Manage public and private construction projects using bidding software.
- Set up contracts and subcontracts while assisting with monthly financial projections and P&L reviews.
- Work at asphalt plants to learn operations, equipment maintenance, and scale usage.
- Join construction and prep crews to learn site setup and equipment requirements.
- Spend time at aggregate locations to understand material logistics and operations.
- Learn about Union collective bargaining agreements and talent management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor or Associate degree program in Construction or Operations Management, or two to four years of related experience.
- Proficiency in Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to interpret safety manuals, operating instructions, and technical diagrams.
- Strong math skills, including the ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Capacity to solve practical problems and communicate effectively with team members and customers.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends, and travel when required.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, such as lifting over 25 pounds and working in outdoor, loud, or variable weather conditions.
