About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in the wholesale building materials industry. You will help plan, direct, and implement our safety program to maintain a healthy and accident-free work environment. This is a full-time, paid position for Summer 2027.
What you'll do#
- Perform instrument calibration independently in the field.
- Support environmental, safety, and health programs while advocating for safe work practices.
- Maintain regulatory records and documentation for IDEM, SHA, and OSHA.
- Define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Write articles and prepare persuasive presentations for management and public groups.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program for Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Willingness to work overtime in the field.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents.
- Proficiency with mathematical concepts including probability, statistics, and proportions.
- Experience in Industrial Hygiene is preferred.
