About the role#
This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027. You will work with a vertically integrated company to gain experience across the aggregate mining business and other lines of work. You will be based on-site at one of our locations in Cranston, Rhode Island, or Lunenburg and Acushnet, Massachusetts.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with staff to solve common issues and work with the Operations Manager on monthly projections.
- Assist the Plant Foreperson with field calculations, cost yields, and equipment tracking, such as fuel usage and mileage.
- Shadow operations personnel to learn about production planning, aggregate objectives, and logistics.
- Gain hands-on experience with administrative requirements, including detailed messaging and timely communication.
- Learn standards for aggregate budgeting, staffing, and inventory levels.
- Support various departments on special projects as needed.
What you'll need#
- Working towards a Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Construction Management or Operations Management.
- Two to four years of related experience or training.
- Proficiency with Windows, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to compute rates, ratios, and percentages.
- Skills to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, and operating instructions.
- Ability to write routine reports and speak effectively to employees and customers.
- Willingness to travel, work away from home, and work nights or weekends when required.
- Ability to lift or move more than 25 pounds and work in outdoor environments near moving mechanical parts.
