About the role#
This is a two-semester Teaching Assistant position for the Game Project I course (PRJ-2000-A). You will support second-year students in game project and Unreal Engine fundamentals, working as part of a team of TAs. The role requires a commitment of 11 to 13 hours per week from August 31, 2026, through April 24, 2027. After midterm, some TAs will transition to support students in the cinematic track.
What you'll do#
- Support student teams through course projects by meeting regularly to assist with workload, organization, decision-making, and interpersonal dynamics.
- Attend all lectures and labs on Tuesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 3:50 p.m. and Fridays from 1:00 p.m. to 5:50 p.m.
- Assist with classroom setup and teardown, including moving foldable tables and chairs, for 20 minutes before and after each class.
- Report to instructing faculty regarding team status, development challenges, and student well-being.
- Help instructors run feedback sessions, provide grading support, and offer constructive critique to students.
- Attend scheduled meetings with faculty to stay current on course procedures and material.
- Maintain availability for a few non-scheduled hours each week to meet with students as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and Good Academic Standing.
- Successful completion of PRJ-2000/2050 or equivalent courses.
- Foundational knowledge of Unreal Engine and core game development practices.
- Understanding of project organization, team management, and art or design production.
- Basic familiarity with source control workflows such as SVN or Perforce.
- Proficiency with communication and project management tools.
- Strong interpersonal skills, emotional awareness, and the ability to guide small group discussions.
Location & details#
- This position is located on-site in Redmond, Washington.
- Work must be performed within the state of Washington.
- Students may not work during any time they have a scheduled class.
- This is a paid position open to students across various majors, including Computer Science, Graphic Design, Art, Media Studies, Communications, Human Resources, Psychology, and Business Administration.
