This is a paid Student Teaching Assistant position for ART-1000-A (Zankowski) during the Fall 2026 term. The role requires 8 hours of work per week. Applicants must be currently matriculated students at DigiPen Institute of Technology, reside within the State of Washington, and maintain good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. Please note that students are not permitted to work during scheduled class times.
What you'll do#
- Assist the instructor with classroom operations, including equipment setup and facilitating student presentations.
- Grade student work, upload grades to Moodle, and provide constructive feedback with consistency and clarity.
- Take notes during class lectures and distribute reminder notifications regarding deadlines and assignments.
- Support students during published office hours and answer questions during labs.
- Maintain accurate records of time worked and meet weekly with the instructor for performance feedback.
What you'll need#
- Must have taken and passed ART-1000 with a grade of B or better.
- Proven proficiency with the course material and an interest in the history of art.
- Ability to interact with students on an instructional level as a mentor and provide professional critiques.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
- Reliability, punctuality, and a positive attitude toward helping others succeed.
- Previous experience as a TA, tutor, or mentor is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington, USA (On-site).
- Employment Dates: August 31 – December 10, 2026.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs, with work consisting of approximately 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.
