About the role#
This Teaching Assistant position supports the ART-1000-A course instructed by Sarah M. Zankowski during the Fall 2026 semester. The role involves assisting the instructor with classroom operations, facilitating student learning, and managing grading tasks. This is a paid, part-time position requiring 8 hours of work per week.
What you'll do#
- Assist with classroom setup, equipment operation, and facilitating student presentations.
- Take notes during lectures and make copies for students.
- Grade student work, upload grades to Moodle, and provide constructive, clear feedback to students.
- Send reminders regarding upcoming deadlines and missed assignments.
- Answer student questions during labs and hold office hours to provide mentorship.
- Meet weekly with the instructor for performance feedback and duty coordination.
What you'll need#
- Must be a currently matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
- Must have completed ART-1000 with a grade of B or better.
- Proven proficiency with the course material and an interest in art history.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide professional critiques.
- A positive attitude toward learning and a genuine interest in helping fellow students succeed.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently.
- Previous experience in tutoring, mentoring, or as a TA is preferred.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington. You must reside within the State of Washington to perform this work.
- Term: August 31, 2026, to December 10, 2026.
- Work Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Class times are Mondays and Thursdays, 9:00 a.m. to 10:20 a.m. You may not work during any time you have a scheduled class.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and perform tasks requiring fine finger dexterity, stooping, or kneeling.
