About the role#
DigiPen Institute of Technology is seeking a Teaching Assistant for DES-270-A User Research I (Savage) for the Fall 2026 term. This position supports the instructor by facilitating classroom activities, grading student work, and providing mentorship to students. The role requires 15 hours of work per week and involves both in-class assistance and independent grading tasks.
What you'll do#
- Grade student work, including lab reports, and provide constructive feedback and grading recommendations to the instructor.
- Assist students during labs and scheduled office hours, including meeting with students online if required.
- Support the instructor with classroom operations, such as equipment setup, running slide decks, and facilitating student presentations.
- Track and report hours worked accurately.
- Meet weekly with the instructor for performance feedback and duty coordination.
What you'll need#
- Must be a currently matriculated student at DigiPen Institute of Technology.
- Proven proficiency with the DES-270 course material (having passed with a B or better is required).
- Strong communication skills and the ability to provide professional critique.
- A positive attitude toward learning and a genuine interest in helping fellow students succeed.
- Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently.
- Access to a laptop during course time.
- Good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5.
Location & details#
- Location: Redmond, Washington (must reside within the state).
- Term: August 31 to December 3, 2026.
- Modality: On-site.
- Compensation: $17.13 to $18.25 per hour, based on experience at DigiPen.
- Class schedule: Mondays 10:30 a.m. to 11:50 a.m. and Thursdays 11:00 a.m. to 12:50 p.m. (students may not work during any scheduled class time).
