    About the role#

    DigiPen Institute of Technology is seeking a Teaching Assistant for DES-270-B User Research I for the Fall 2026 term. This role supports the instructor in classroom operations and student mentorship. The position requires 15 hours of work per week from August 31 to December 3, 2026. Applicants must be currently matriculated students at DigiPen in good academic standing with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5 and must have completed DES-270 with a grade of B or better. Students must reside within the State of Washington to perform this on-site role.

    What you'll do#

    • Grade student work, including lab reports, and provide assignment feedback and grading recommendations to the instructor.
    • Assist students in labs and during published office hours, including meeting with them online if required.
    • Support classroom activities such as equipment setup, slide deck operation, and facilitating student presentations.
    • Ensure the timely delivery of graded assignments while maintaining consistency and clarity.
    • Meet weekly with the instructor for performance feedback and duty review.
    • Track and report all hours worked.

    What you'll need#

    • Proven proficiency with the course material for DES-270.
    • A positive attitude toward learning and a willingness to help others excel.
    • Ability to interact with students as a mentor and provide professional critique.
    • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently.
    • Reliability, punctuality, and a commitment to student success.
    • Access to a laptop during course time.
    • Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 25 lbs, with work consisting of approximately 80% sitting, 10% walking, and 10% standing.

    • Location: Redmond, Washington.
    • Term: Fall 2026 (August 31 - December 3, 2026).
    • Modality: On-site.
    • Compensation: $17.13 - $18.25 per hour, based on the number of terms worked at DigiPen.
    • Schedule: Must be available to attend lectures and labs. Students are not permitted to work during any time they have a scheduled class.
