About the role#
Makerspace Mentors work with students in one-on-one and small group settings. You will help members of the Pace community become independent learners. This role supports daily operations by managing appointments, maintaining records, and providing administrative assistance to keep the workspace effective and safe.
What you'll do#
- Lead workshops and facilitate class sessions, fabrication, and events.
- Conduct scheduled and walk-in sessions with students.
- Create learning resources for students and faculty.
- Maintain detailed records of appointment reflections.
- Participate in ongoing trainings, assessments, and meetings.
- Respond to emails and maintain professional working relationships.
What you'll need#
- Federal Work Study eligibility.
- A GPA of 3.4 or higher, with 3.5 preferred.
- Advanced technical skills in areas like 3D printing, laser cutting, and sewing.
- Ability to handle confidential information discreetly.
- Patience and the ability to work with people from various backgrounds and learning styles.
Location & details#
- Location: New York, NY.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Rolling term. You may work up to 20 hours per week during the school session and up to 35 hours per week during breaks.
