About the role#
The Land Summer Intern program provides students with practical experience in land management within a professional office setting. You will work on both individual and team assignments, applying technical skills to real-world energy projects. This position is designed to help you develop professional capabilities while exploring career paths in the oil and gas industry.
What you'll do#
- Conduct title research using courthouse records, online resources, and internal databases.
- Evaluate and secure surface and subsurface rights.
- Prepare and analyze leases and related agreements.
- Monitor regulatory activity and filings with the OCC and TXRRC.
- Calculate working and net revenue interests.
- Review title opinions and curative documents.
- Propose operations such as workovers and recompletions to interest owners.
- Use GIS and various data sources for data quality initiatives.
- Assist land staff with projects and apply technical skills to daily tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current full-time student status pursuing a degree in Energy Management, Business, Communications, Environmental Engineering, Physics, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and May 2028.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with an ability to work effectively in a team.
- Proficiency with computers and an interest in data and digital tools.
- Knowledge of oil and gas industry practices is a plus.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based on-site in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, or Houston, Texas.
- Sponsorship is not available for this position.
