About the role#
This internship offers students the chance to apply accounting and tax principles in a professional office environment. You will work on both team and individual assignments, gaining exposure to real-world tasks and projects. This program helps you develop technical and professional skills while exploring potential career paths at Devon Energy.
What you'll do#
- Perform duties typically assigned to entry-level accountants.
- Prepare and post journal entries.
- Assist with general ledger reconciliations and account analysis.
- Help prepare, review, and distribute financial statements, management reports, and tax returns.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives to help identify opportunities for efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate with various departments.
- Present findings and learnings to team members and management.
- Use accounting software and tools, including opportunities to engage with emerging digital tools and automation processes.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a full-time student pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related disciplines.
- Standing as a college Sophomore, Junior, or Senior.
- A GPA of 3.0 or higher is preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Effective problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to work effectively as a team player and communicate openly.
- Knowledge of oil and gas industry practices is a plus.
