About the role#
Dennis Group designs and builds food and beverage processing facilities. As a Process/Project Engineer Intern, you will work on projects from the conceptual stage through design and construction. You will coordinate across disciplines including mechanical, electrical, and architecture to help improve operational efficiency for our clients.
What you'll do#
- Develop process design basis and select unit operations.
- Prepare process flow diagrams and piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Assist project management with the development of project scope, budget, and schedule.
- Oversee the installation of process and utility equipment.
- Provide onsite support during construction start-up and commissioning.
What you'll need#
- Junior or Senior status pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Experience with MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
- Interest in food safety and sanitary design principles.
- Familiarity with process flow diagrams and P&IDs is helpful.
Location & details#
- This is a paid, full-time internship for Summer 2027.
- The role is based in Springfield, Massachusetts.
- Work is on-site and requires travel up to 50% of the time to visit project sites.
