About the role#
We are looking for a Packaging Engineer Co-op to join our team in Duluth, Georgia. This is a paid, full-time position that runs on a rolling basis. You will work on-site as we plan and build food plants for major brands.
What you'll do#
- Develop design concepts, cost estimates, and functional specifications for packaging lines.
- Interpret mechanical requirements and customer specifications to guide system design.
- Manage the specification, purchase, installation, and commissioning of packaging equipment.
- Create packaging flow diagrams, material balances, and equipment lists.
- Assist with equipment bid packages.
- Provide support during construction, including site visits to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
- Develop equipment layouts using AutoCAD.
What you'll need#
- You are a sophomore, junior, or senior pursuing a bachelor degree in chemical, mechanical, packaging, industrial, or manufacturing engineering.
- A GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Experience with MS Office, MS Project, and AutoCAD.
- Ability to travel to project sites, which may be 30% to 50% of the time.
- Familiarity with process flow diagrams and P&IDs is a plus.
- Ability to lift up to 15 pounds and spend extended periods working at a desk.
