About the role#
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) Technology department is seeking interns for the Fall 2026 term. This program provides hands-on experience in political technology, data analytics, software engineering, and cybersecurity. Interns will work on projects that support the broader tech team, participate in team meetings, and collaborate with mentors. This role is open to students currently enrolled in or recently graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program, as well as veterans of the United States Armed Forces.
What you'll do#
- Work on projects designed to support the Tech team and build professional skills in data science, engineering, or security.
- Assist the DNC Operations team by attending weekly phone shifts.
- Participate in team meetings and work closely with assigned mentors.
- Engage in grassroots organizing and assist at DNC functions.
- Network with DNC leadership and staff.
What you'll need#
- Completion of at least one semester of computer programming, computer information systems, or equivalent coursework in fields such as Computer Science, Data Science, Cybersecurity, or Computer Engineering.
- Familiarity with programming or spreadsheet software, including Excel or Google Sheets.
- Ability to solve problems and work independently.
- Strong communication skills.
- A passion for technology and a willingness to learn new tools and systems.
- Ability to commit to 20 hours per week for the duration of the program.
Location & details#
- Term: September 8, 2026, to November 13, 2026.
- Modality: The program offers on-site, hybrid, or remote options. Interns must be located in the United States.
- Compensation: This is a paid internship with a $3,000 stipend. Housing is not provided.
- Eligibility: Applicants must be at least 18 years old by the start date and must be physically present in the United States during the internship.
