Fall 2026 DNC Legal Internship

About the role#

The DNC Legal team provides legal advice on topics relevant to a national party committee and its political activities, including election and campaign finance, voting rights litigation, contract negotiation, employment law, and privacy research. This internship offers hands-on experience in Democratic politics and the political process.

What you'll do#

• Conduct research and fact-finding on a variety of legal and administrative topics.
• Draft organized documents, including emails, legal memoranda, training materials, and presentations.
• Collaborate with the Legal team to develop internal policies and processes.
• Support contract workflows through research, template development, and initial reviews.
• Attend mandatory onboarding and offboarding sessions.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a JD or LLM program at an ABA-certified, U.S.-based institution.
• Or, graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-certified, U.S.-based institution within two years of the internship start date.
• Or, graduated with a JD or LLM from an ABA-certified, U.S.-based institution and currently enrolled in a non-legal graduate program.
• Commitment to working 20 hours per week.
• Must be physically present in the United States for the duration of the program.

• Compensation: This is a paid internship with a $3,000 stipend.
