About the role#
Dee Zee, Inc. is hiring an Industrial Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027. This role focuses on improving manufacturing efficiency, accuracy, and cost effectiveness. You will work in a hands-on production environment from June 1 through September 3, 2027, though we can adjust these dates based on your availability. This position is full-time and on-site.
What you'll do#
- Create, review, and update Bills of Materials and routings.
- Analyze labor variance reports to find trends and improvement opportunities.
- Work on process improvement projects to reduce waste and increase efficiency.
- Maintain plant layouts, work center data, and material flow documentation.
- Participate in the Change Order process.
- Support special projects involving tooling, fixtures, and production support items.
- Mine data and develop reports to assist with decision-making.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of a degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Technology, or a related field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to read blueprints, plant layouts, and process documentation.
- Familiarity with CAD software, specifically AutoCAD or SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Willingness to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to coolant, dust, mist, elevated noise, and fluctuating temperatures.
