About the role#
This position offers hands-on clinical experience for students interested in respiratory care. You will work under the supervision of experienced respiratory therapists to gain practical skills in a hospital setting. The role provides mentorship and flexible scheduling designed to accommodate your academic program.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Respiratory Therapy team with daily patient care under supervision.
- Observe and participate in the administration of respiratory treatments and therapies.
- Learn to operate and maintain respiratory equipment.
- Monitor the respiratory status of patients and report any changes to the supervising staff.
- Follow all safety protocols and maintain patient confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- A strong interest in patient care and respiratory health.
- The ability to follow directions and work effectively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR certification is preferred, or a willingness to obtain it.
