About the role#
Deaconess Health System is seeking a Student Respiratory Therapist to support the Respiratory Care team. This position provides hands-on clinical experience in a supportive environment, offering mentorship from experienced therapists and flexible scheduling to accommodate academic commitments.
What you'll do#
- Assist the Respiratory Therapy team in daily patient care under supervision.
- Observe and participate in the administration of respiratory treatments and therapies.
- Learn to operate and maintain respiratory equipment.
- Monitor patients’ respiratory status and report changes to supervising staff.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain patient confidentiality.
What you'll need#
- Currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program.
- Strong interest in patient care and respiratory health.
- Ability to follow directions and work well in a team environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- CPR certification is preferred or a willingness to obtain.
