About the role#
The Strategy Intern role is a rotational position designed for physician-leaders in training. You will gain exposure to core health system functions including Strategy, Data & Analytics, Financial Planning & Analysis, Transformation, and Physician Enterprise. This internship provides the opportunity to work directly with executive and operational leaders on high-impact initiatives that support organizational growth and financial performance.
What you'll do#
- Participate in a rotational program across multiple departments.
- Support strategic planning, market assessments, and service line analyses.
- Validate and maintain dashboards, reports, and analytical tools for executive decision-making.
- Assist in creating financial models, ROI analyses, pro forma statements, and business cases for new program opportunities.
- Participate in operational improvement initiatives focused on efficiency, physician productivity, and patient experience.
- Support physician enterprise leadership through performance reporting and practice analytics.
- Conduct research, synthesize information, and prepare presentations for senior leadership.
- Maintain documentation of methodologies and reporting processes to ensure reproducibility.
- Collaborate across clinical, operational, financial, and administrative teams.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited MD, DO, MBA, MD/MBA, DO/MBA, or graduate healthcare leadership program.
- Completion of at least one year of medical school is preferred.
- Demonstrated interest in healthcare strategy, physician leadership, finance, operations, consulting, or data analytics.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills.
- Self-motivated with a willingness to learn and collaborate.
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools is preferred.
- Experience working with healthcare data, financial analyses, or process improvement initiatives is preferred.
