Pharmacy Intern - Grad

About the role#

As a Graduate Pharmacy Intern, you will transition from didactic learning to real-world practice to prepare for a Pharmacist role. You will work under the direction of a preceptor and District Leader to complete a comprehensive training roadmap within 120 days of graduation. This role focuses on store, district, and regional operations, including patient safety, quality assurance, and pharmacy professional standards.

What you'll do#

• Ensure pharmacy operations run smoothly while filling prescriptions accurately and promptly.
• Follow standard pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
• Offer patient counseling, field medical questions, and take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers.
• Deliver patient health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, including documenting information and responding to adverse reactions.
• Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members to share best practices.
• Maintain inventory activities, including cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
• Assist the pharmacy team with standard operating procedures and contribute to a safe, inclusive environment.

What you'll need#

• PharmD graduate of a U.S. accredited program.
• Ability to obtain required pharmacist licensure within 120 days of graduation.
• Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
• Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market as needed.
• Ability to become immunization certified.
• 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
