About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap designed to show you how a pharmacy team operates. You will gain experience across store, district, and regional operations while preparing for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. This role focuses on supporting pharmacy teams to deliver safe, accurate, and caring service to our patients.
What you'll do#
- Complete a training roadmap, including Key Learning Experiences and time with district leaders.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow company SOPs and workflow procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and providing compassionate care.
- Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and collect medical history under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and clarify details with prescribers.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns, and putting away deliveries.
- Educate patients on vaccines, monitor for adverse reactions, and document patient information.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to maintain regular, predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to concentrate on tasks and pivot quickly between them to meet patient needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills and active listening habits.
- Ability to use math to solve problems like calculating medication dosages or day supply.
- 1+ years of related experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings is preferred.
- Ability to become immunization certified and proficiency in Microsoft Suite.

- Schedule: Full-time hours with required flexibility to work in your home store and other locations across the market.
