About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on Key Learning Experiences (KLEs). This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap focusing on KLEs.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure smooth, safe, and accurate operations.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures across workstations like production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Demonstrate empathy and genuine care during all customer interactions.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines.
- Maintain high levels of self-awareness and provide coaching to team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and medication returns.
- Maintain flexibility for scheduling and travel to other store locations within the market as needed.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Possession of, or progress toward obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to concentrate on specific tasks over extended periods.
- Ability to pivot quickly between different tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
