About the role#
The Nurse Intern Float Pool supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with essential care tasks and learn to foster a therapeutic environment. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration with the healthcare team to provide safe and organized care.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care within your scope of practice, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene.
- Communicate effectively with the care team during handoffs and shift reports.
- Develop clinical skills by asking questions and seeking feedback from experienced staff.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment in patient rooms and shared workspaces.
- Document all tasks and observations clearly and accurately.
- Assist with basic equipment maintenance and cleaning.
- Perform hourly rounding to interact with patients and support their healing process.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- Up to 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Valid CPR certification from the American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Safety and Health Institute.
- Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
