About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your didactic pharmacy education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role is designed to prepare you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Support pharmacy teams in delivering our brand promise while developing your professional skills.
- Assist with pharmacy operations to ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately.
- Learn and apply Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and best practices for pharmacy workflow.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by demonstrating empathy and genuine care during interactions.
- Perform basic inventory activities, such as putting away deliveries, completing cycle counts, and managing returns.
- Communicate with prescribers to clarify prescriptions or facilitate changes where state regulations allow.
- Educate patients on health services and assist with immunizations once required training and licensure are obtained.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong focus and the ability to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Flexibility to pivot quickly between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 20 lbs, and perform repetitive tasks like typing or reaching.
