About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience in pharmacy operations. This role focuses on helping our pharmacy teams deliver safe, accurate, and caring service to our patients.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Offer to counsel, field medical questions, and solicit information on a patient’s medical history.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify prescriptions where allowed by state regulation.
- Complete basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive team environment while developing your clinical and technical skills.
What you'll need#
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
