About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your academic learning to real-world pharmacy practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap, gaining experience in store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on developing your clinical and technical skills as you prepare for future responsibilities as a pharmacist.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap and key learning experiences.
- Assist the pharmacy team with operations to ensure prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Provide caring service and contribute to positive patient experiences.
- Follow company standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow protocols at all workstations.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes.
- Perform inventory activities such as cycle counts and managing medication deliveries.
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members.
- Support immunization services, including educating patients and monitoring for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- 1+ years of experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Strong active listening, communication, and mathematical reasoning skills.
- Ability to concentrate on tasks, pivot quickly between duties, and resolve challenging interactions.
- Ability to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market.

- Location: Bartlett, Illinois.
- Modality: On-site.
- Schedule: Part-time, rolling term.
- Pay Range: $20.50 - $24.25 per hour.
