About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers pharmacy operations. This role is designed to help you prepare for a future career as a Pharmacist by gaining hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit information on medical history under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify details as needed.
- Complete inventory activities, including cycle counts, returns to stock, and waiting bin inventories.
- Support immunization services by educating patients, monitoring for adverse reactions, and documenting patient information.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Availability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
Location & details#
- This is an on-site position located in Brea, California.
- The role is part-time with a pay range of $23.00 to $28.00 per hour.
