About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice while preparing for a future career as a pharmacist. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers pharmacy operations and patient care. This is a part-time, paid position based in Del Mar, California.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify details when necessary.
- Complete inventory tasks such as cycle counts, returns-to-stocks, and waiting bin inventories.
- Support immunization efforts by educating patients and monitoring for adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
