About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining experience in pharmacy operations while preparing for a future role as a pharmacist. This position requires regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at all workstations to ensure safe and accurate prescription fulfillment.
- Assist the pharmacy team to keep operations running smoothly.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call to clarify prescriptions or facilitate medication changes.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and returns-to-stocks.
- Contribute to a safe and inclusive team environment while providing caring service to patients.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to concentrate on tasks over time.
- Capability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 20 lbs.
