About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining an overview of store, district, and regional operations. This role prepares you for future responsibilities as a pharmacist while supporting our pharmacy teams in delivering care to patients.
What you'll do#
- Complete a comprehensive training roadmap, focusing on Key Learning Experiences that build your professional aptitude.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly, including prescription fulfillment and workflow procedures.
- Recognize and respond to patients' needs with empathy and genuine care.
- Follow all company standard operating procedures at each workstation to help manage patient health.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and assist in immunizations where permitted by law.
- Maintain flexibility to work in your home store and across the market to meet business needs.
What you'll need#
- Acceptance into, or active enrollment in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Capacity to concentrate on tasks over extended periods.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
