About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap, gaining hands-on experience with store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on developing your skills to prepare for future responsibilities as a pharmacist while supporting our pharmacy team in delivering patient care.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering empathy and genuine care.
- Offer to counsel patients, field medical questions, and solicit medical history information under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and clarify medication details.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services, including supporting immunizations, point-of-care testing, and staffing offsite clinics where permitted.
- Educate patients on the importance of vaccines and assist with documentation and monitoring.
- Complete all required licensure and training requirements.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment or acceptance into an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market as needed.

- Compensation: $20.10 - $23.10 per hour.
