About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a comprehensive training roadmap. This role provides an overview of store, district, and regional operations while preparing you for future responsibilities as a Pharmacist. You will gain hands-on experience through Key Learning Experiences and activities.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure that pharmacy operations run smoothly.
- Follow all company SOPs at each workstation to support patient health.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care.
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at workstations including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, such as immunizations, where allowable by law and supported by required training.
- Maintain focus to confirm prescription information and label accuracy, ensuring patient safety.
What you'll need#
- Accepted into, or actively enrolled in, an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure as required.
- Ability to complete required training within the designated timeframe.
- Ability to concentrate on a task over a period of time.
- Ability to pivot between tasks to meet patient and business needs.
