About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will work under the supervision of a preceptor to gain professional experience in a community healthcare setting. This role focuses on delivering patient care, modeling company values, and supporting the pharmacy team. You will participate in the ExperienceRx program to further your development.
What you'll do#
- Handle all aspects of the prescription filling process.
- Provide patient counseling and assist customers with their questions.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
- Offer health screenings and immunizations when appropriate.
- Manage pharmacy inventory and ensure adherence to regulatory requirements.
- Maintain focus on patient safety and professional practice standards.
- Motivate your team and contribute to a positive culture.
- Identify business opportunities and implement solutions to improve performance.
- Adapt to changes in the pharmacy environment.
- Stay current on new training, initiatives, and developments.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a School of Pharmacy.
- An active Pharmacy Intern License in the state of employment.
- No pending felony charges or convictions for criminal offenses involving controlled substances.
- Not listed on the DEA Excluded Parties List.
