About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your pharmacy school education to real-world practice. You will complete a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will gain hands-on experience while learning about store, district, and regional operations.
What you'll do#
- Assist the pharmacy team with daily operations, including prescription fulfillment, to ensure tasks are completed safely and accurately.
- Follow standard operating procedures and pharmacy workflow protocols at all workstations.
- Provide patient care by offering counseling, fielding medical questions, and soliciting medical history under the supervision of a pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and communicate with prescribers to clarify orders or facilitate changes.
- Deliver health care services such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, where permitted by law.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions, reporting events as required.
- Perform inventory activities, including cycle counts and processing returns.
- Provide coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Contribute to a positive patient experience through empathy and care.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations within the market as needed.

- Pay Range: $20.10 - $23.10 per hour.
