About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will apply your classroom learning to real-world pharmacy practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to complete a training roadmap that covers store, district, and regional operations. This role focuses on supporting the pharmacy team to ensure safe, accurate, and prompt prescription fulfillment while developing the skills necessary for a future Pharmacist role.
What you'll do#
- Follow pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where state regulations allow.
- Complete inventory activities such as putting away deliveries, conducting cycle counts, and processing returns.
- Provide patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, where allowable by law and supported by training.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or acceptance to an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining one.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- Flexibility to work nights and weekends as needed.
