About the role#
As a Pharmacy Intern, you will bridge the gap between classroom learning and real-world pharmacy practice. You will follow a comprehensive training roadmap designed to prepare you for a future role as a Pharmacist. This position involves working under the direction of a preceptor to gain hands-on experience in pharmacy operations while supporting the delivery of patient care.
What you'll do#
- Complete a structured training roadmap including Key Learning Experiences and time with district leaders.
- Assist the pharmacy team to ensure operations run smoothly and prescriptions are filled safely and accurately.
- Follow standard operating procedures at all workstations, including production, pick-up, drive-thru, and drop-off.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by offering empathy, fielding medical questions, and providing counseling under pharmacist supervision.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and facilitate medication changes where permitted.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Perform basic inventory activities such as cycle counts, returns-to-stock, and processing medication deliveries.
- Deliver patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing, and support immunizations as a Technician Immunizer.
- Comply with all federal, state, and local laws, as well as company policies regarding patient safety and privacy.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in an ACPE accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or the ability to obtain it.
- At least 1 year of work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Flexibility to work in your home store and travel to other locations across the market.

- This is a part-time, paid position.
- The role follows a rolling term and requires on-site attendance.
