About the role#
This internship program is designed for foreign-trained pharmacy graduates to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to pass US pharmacist licensure exams. This is a full-time, on-site role that requires completion of all internship hours within 18 months and pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Deliver care to patients and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA standards.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and resolving third-party rejections.
- Perform prescription pick-up procedures and maintain pharmacy inventory.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the supervising pharmacist with dispensing duties and compliance monitoring.
- Lead the development of pharmacy support staff and identify business opportunities to improve performance.
- Comply with all federal and state laws, as well as company policies.
- Deliver additional health care services as permitted by state regulation.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to work a schedule that includes nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently.
