About the role#
As an International Pharmacy Intern, you will complete your required US internship hours while applying your pharmacy education to real-world practice. You will work under the direction of a preceptor to develop the knowledge and skills needed to transition into a Pharmacist role. This program requires you to successfully complete your internship within 18 months and obtain pharmacist licensure in the state of practice within 120 days of finishing your intern hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures for safe and accurate prescription fulfillment at all workstations.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and care when serving patients at pick-up, drive-thru, and over the phone.
- Offer to counsel and field medical questions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Take telephonic prescriptions and call prescribers to clarify information.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and processing returns.
- Educate patients about the importance of vaccines and assist with immunization services where allowable by law.
- Monitor for and respond to adverse reactions, following all reporting requirements.
What you'll need#
- Foreign Graduate degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Must possess, or be in the process of obtaining, valid intern or technician licensure.
- 1+ years of related work experience in pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service settings.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- Ability to work at your home store and travel to other locations within the market as needed.

- This is an on-site, full-time position based in Davenport, Iowa.
- The role is paid and follows a rolling term schedule.
