About the role#
As a Non-US Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing Pharmacist education. This role focuses on developing your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to ensure a safe and effective work environment while delivering exceptional patient care. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months and meet all requirements for Pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your hours.
What you'll do#
- Manage patient care programs and help customers maintain their health.
- Greet customers in a professional manner and assist with pharmacy and front store questions.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, selecting products, and labeling.
- Resolve third party rejections and perform prescription pick-up procedures.
- Maintain in-stock inventory and assist with putting away drug orders.
- Deliver health care services as allowable, such as immunizations and testing.
- Provide counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in scheduling, training, and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Communicate with healthcare professionals to provide optimal patient care.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs. of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs. frequently.
- Skills in results orientation, patient counseling, negotiation, and conflict resolution.
