About the role#
As a US Non-Accredited Foreign Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to prepare for a Pharmacist role. Under the direction of a preceptor, you will follow a mixed modality learning plan designed to develop your clinical knowledge, professional skills, and business acumen. You are required to complete your internship within 18 months and obtain Pharmacist licensure in California within 120 days of finishing your intern hours.
What you'll do#
- Follow all company SOPs and pharmacy workflow procedures at each workstation.
- Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care.
- Offer to counsel patients and field medical questions.
- Take telephonic prescriptions from prescribers and call them to clarify orders or facilitate medication changes.
- Provide in-the-moment coaching, training, and mentoring to pharmacy team members.
- Complete basic inventory activities, such as cycle counts and putting away deliveries.
- Deliver additional patient health care services, including immunizations and point-of-care testing.
- Complete licensure and training requirements to obtain Technician Immunizer status.
- Educate patients about vaccines and monitor for or respond to adverse reactions.
What you'll need#
- Foreign Graduate degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- FPGEC certification.
- Valid intern or technician licensure, or be in the process of obtaining it.
- Ability to complete all required training within the designated timeframe.
- 1+ years of related work experience in a pharmacy, retail, medical, or customer service setting.
- Ability to become immunization certified.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
