About the role#
As a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate, you will complete your required US internship hours to build upon your existing education. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to develop the knowledge and skills necessary for US licensure. This role requires you to complete your internship within 18 months and achieve pharmacist licensure within 120 days of finishing your required hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective pharmacy environment while modeling empathy for patients and colleagues.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating staff and identifying business opportunities to improve performance.
- Assist customers with questions, perform register transactions, and maintain patient confidentiality per HIPAA standards.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, resolving third-party rejections, and managing inventory.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist and deliver healthcare services such as immunizations where allowable.
- Coordinate training for pharmacy support staff and participate in store operational meetings.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Active pharmacy intern license in the state of California.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Strong communication, emotional intelligence, and time management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
- Eligibility to immunize.
