About the role#
This position is for foreign pharmacy graduates looking to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US pharmacist licensure. The role requires completion of internship hours within 18 months and obtaining pharmacist licensure in California within 120 days of completing those hours.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while maintaining patient confidentiality.
- Process prescriptions, including translating SIG codes, counting, labeling, and resolving third-party rejections.
- Deliver health care services such as point-of-care testing and immunization preparation.
- Counsel patients under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Manage inventory and pharmacy workflow, excluding final prescription verification.
- Greet customers and perform register transactions with a professional approach.
- Adopt and manage patient care programs to improve health outcomes.
What you'll need#
- Doctorate (PharmD) or equivalent degree from a non-US accredited school of pharmacy.
- Must have passed the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Active pharmacy intern license in California.
- Strong communication, time management, and emotional intelligence skills.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs occasionally and 10 lbs frequently.
- Reliable attendance, including availability for nights and weekends.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and immunization eligibility are preferred.
