About the role#
This position is for foreign pharmacy graduates who need to complete their required US internship hours. You will work under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist to gain the knowledge and skills necessary for US licensure. The goal is to prepare you to pass all required pharmacist exams and processes within 120 days of finishing your internship hours. You are expected to complete your internship within 18 months.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment, including quality assurance, workflow management, and regulatory compliance.
- Process prescriptions, resolve third-party rejections, and perform prescription pick-up procedures.
- Greet and assist pharmacy and front-store customers, perform register transactions, and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Support the pharmacy manager in motivating and developing pharmacy support staff.
- Identify business opportunities to improve pharmacy performance and adopt patient care programs.
- Provide patient counseling under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Coordinate the training of pharmacy support staff.
What you'll need#
- A degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- Successful completion of the FPGEE and TOEFL.
- An active pharmacy intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Strong communication, presentation, and active listening skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Eligibility to immunize.
- Ability to maintain regular attendance, including nights and weekends.
- Physical ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally and up to 10 lbs frequently.
