About the role#
As an International Pharmacy Intern, you will complete your required US internship hours while working under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist. This program is designed for foreign pharmacy graduates to gain practical experience in a retail pharmacy setting. You will work toward obtaining your pharmacist licensure in the state where you are based within 120 days of completing your required internship hours. This is a full-time, on-site position with a rolling start date.
What you'll do#
- Ensure a safe and effective retail pharmacy environment while maintaining patient safety and quality assurance.
- Adhere to pharmacy workflow standards and regulatory requirements.
- Process prescriptions, including the translation of SIG codes, drug labeling, and the resolution of third-party rejections.
- Manage inventory according to company policies and assist with putting away drug orders.
- Deliver health care services, such as immunizations, as permitted by state regulation.
- Provide patient counseling under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Lead and develop pharmacy support staff by identifying strengths and addressing development opportunities.
- Participate in store operational meetings and collaborate with the pharmacy team to drive performance.
What you'll need#
- A degree from a non-US accredited college or school of pharmacy.
- An active Pharmacy Intern license in the state where the district is located.
- Successful completion of both the FPGEE and TOEFL exams.
- Strong communication, presentation, and emotional intelligence skills.
- Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work nights and weekends.
- Ability to lift and exert up to 20 lbs of force occasionally.
