About the role#
The Cox Family Office in Atlanta is looking for a Tax Analyst Intern for the summer of 2027. This role supports the Tax and Generational Planning Group. You will work with CPAs and tax professionals to gain experience in tax compliance and planning for high-net-wealth individuals, trusts, and related entities.
What you'll do#
- Review individual, trust, and entity tax returns under supervision.
- Use Excel and tax software to support tax projections and planning analyses.
- Conduct tax research and summarize findings for the team.
- Maintain tax documentation for charitable contributions, gifts, and other tax-sensitive transactions.
- Manage tax compliance calendars and filing deadlines.
- Help respond to tax audits, notices, and controversy matters by gathering documentation and drafting initial responses.
- Participate in special projects focused on tax strategy, estate planning, and generational wealth transfer.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Tax, or a related field.
- A 150-hour CPA track is preferred.
- Strong interest in taxation and wealth management.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- A team-oriented mindset and positive attitude.
- Prior internship or coursework in tax or accounting is a plus.
