About the role#
The SICU Nurse Intern supports patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. You will assist with essential care tasks and learn to foster a therapeutic environment. This role focuses on hands-on learning and collaboration with the healthcare team to provide safe and organized care.
What you'll do#
- Provide basic patient care, including monitoring vital signs and assisting with hygiene.
- Perform hourly rounding and purposeful patient interactions to support the healing process.
- Communicate changes in patient conditions to the care team and participate in handoffs.
- Document all tasks and observations clearly and accurately.
- Maintain a clean work environment and assist with the maintenance and storage of patient care equipment.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Nursing program.
- Completion of fundamentals of clinicals in an accredited Nursing program.
- Zero to one year of experience in a healthcare setting.
- CPR certification from the AHA, ARC, or ASHI.
- A Fingerprint Clearance Card issued by the State Department of Public Safety.
