About the role#
The Radiology Student Tech performs diagnostic imaging procedures while under the direct supervision of a registered Radiologic Technologist. You will build your technical skills and clinical competency by participating in supervised learning experiences across various imaging modalities. This is a PRN position designed for students currently enrolled in an accredited program.
What you'll do#
- Perform radiologic examinations under direct supervision.
- Position patients and select technical factors to produce high-quality diagnostic images.
- Communicate with patients to provide clear instructions and ensure their comfort.
- Follow department protocols for radiation safety, infection control, and the use of personal protective equipment.
- Label images accurately and use side markers according to standards.
- Document procedures in the appropriate systems.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized imaging environment.
- Seek guidance from technologists and clinical instructors to support your learning.
- Maintain regular attendance and follow all company policies.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
- 0 to 1 years of clinical experience.
- Basic understanding of radiographic procedures and imaging equipment.
- Knowledge of radiation safety and infection prevention practices.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Interpersonal skills to interact professionally with patients and staff.
- Basic computer literacy and familiarity with electronic health records.
- Ability to obtain Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of hire.
