About the role#
The Patient Relations Liaison Intern supports clinical and administrative operations at the Hampton University Proton Cancer Institute. This role involves managing patient materials, improving communication processes, and assisting with community-focused programs. You will gain experience in a clinical environment while completing project-based assignments.
What you'll do#
- Prepare and assemble 20 patient packets weekly for the clinical support team.
- Design a communication strategy to help patients transition from paper surveys to a new digital format.
- Research and secure a grocery vendor to partner with the PATH program for patient food support.
- Identify potential grant opportunities that align with institute programs.
- Create a planting schedule for the facility garden and coordinate volunteer efforts for maintenance.
- Develop a final PowerPoint presentation to share your project outcomes and professional development with mentors and fellow interns.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a degree program or graduation within the last 12 months from an accredited institution.
- Proof of good academic standing and a copy of your class schedule.
- A recent resume or cover letter.
- A copy of your course syllabus if you are seeking academic credit.
